Knights Stream Park

Knights Stream Park is an example of developers keen to really enhance the outdoor spaces around a subdivision.

Knights Stream Park is a celebration of urban developers making the most of the outdoor spaces. Our work involved creating installations in both steel, wood and stone, prefect compliments to the well landscaped areas around the park areas.

The challenge

The Knights Stream Park project evolved after Fane Robinson [Ngāi Tahu] approached Brent [AF] to look at options for some unique art installation options in the public space around suburban development in Halswell. As part of all new developments Christchurch City Council legally require the integration of the cultural narrative connecting the land, people and how the area is used, and Kiri Jarden [CCC] enabled and oversaw the creation of the master plan.

The solution

From the ground up literally, this development incorporated the cultural narrative, while also working closely with engineers to determine best practice for installations. However the link didn’t end there, and as the project evolved timber discovered when the land was cleared, was repurposed as part of the toi toi art features, that punctuate the open spaces.

The result

Knights Stream Park has developed, with custom built paths and intersections for children to learn to ride their bikes, and complete with stunning landscaping punctuated by custom art installations. This is a great example of how much a public space can be improved with commitment to the landscape surrounds and the stories that are told throughout.

From concept, to installation

The AF team were engaged early on to develop the initial concept, which we then saw through to it's installation on site.

They exceeded all of what we hoped for

Art Fetiche are absolute pros when it comes to all of our signage and bespoke pieces at Fush. We continue to give them tall orders and they always overdeliver. They have wrapped our food trucks, created stunning murals, one off bespoke lights, large scale one off pieces that hang from the ceiling, custom furniture and much more. AF have helped us share the Fush brand with the world in a way that makes us proud! I wouldn’t go anywhere else
