Victoria Square

Art Fetiche embraced the opportunity to help bring life to and artists vision within the Square. There is nothing small about Fayne Robinson's pieces designed to tell the story and connect people to the space.

The challenge

It started with the City Council approaching Fayne Robinson and Brent Brownlee as part of the square redevelopment. The council were keen to tell the history of Christchurch through Fane’s carvings. Unfortunately, with just a year to complete, and no dry logs suitable another solution was needed, and that’s when Brent is in his zone! Thinking outside the square, big and bold yet detailed and precise!

The solution

A classic case for the multi faceted team at Art Fetiche to play their part. As the pictures demonstrate the waka cnc routered as two pieces, before being sand blasted, and then adding the carvings completed off site!

The result

Fayne’s vision was certainly realised in the final installations, that stand tall and striking in this lovely park! The finished products show no sign of the various components made in different ways and incorporated together so well!

From concept, to installation

The AF team were engaged to see the vision come to life, and see it installed for all to appreciate and enjoy
