Home : Tūranga
Tūranga is a celebration of everything a library can be in today. Our art installations help to make it more than just a place for books, but a hub for locals to meet and discover anything they wish
Tūranga was designed as a joint partnership with Ngai Tahu and the Christchurch City Council. The design needed to acknowledge this and the needs of a modern library complex in the centre of the city. Significant graphical artworks were designed to help tell the stories of Christchurch, and its history.
The work involved large areas of walls and floors of stone etched with graphics, and 3 dimensional artworks in prominent places around the facility. Art Fetiche excelled in not only delivering on overall impact and scale, but the attention to detail means the art can be enjoyed from close range as well.
I think everyone is rapt with the outcome, and we’re super proud to be a part of some features that add to the impact and vibe of the place!
It’s definitely redefined what a library can be, and what it can facilitate for a community with vibrant spaces, and features accentuated with light, forms and colour in striking ways!
As in any project of this scale Art Fetiche can provide a range of services and specific applications to enhance the final outcome. With skilled in house operators and state of the art tech, we add value to the over all impact of a project.
